Oakland’s Nadja Pentic Creates a Luxury Steam Shower Sanctuary with Thermasol
Design isn’t just about how a space looks — it’s about how it feels. For designer Nadja Pentic, founder of Knocknock, that philosophy came to life in her latest Oakland bathroom design project featuring ThermaSol steam technology: a deeply personal wellness retreat created for her client, Lisha, a single mom, equity advocate, and venture capitalist known for her energy and compassion.
“Lisha gives so much to her community,” Nadja shares. “I wanted her to have a place where she could retreat from the world — a true sanctuary for self-care and relaxation.”
The Vision: Creating Space to Restore
From the beginning, the goal was clear: create an intimate, restorative environment that invites calm. Every design decision — from the layout to the materials — was made with wellness-focused planning in mind.
“The entire plan revolved around a comfortable spa zone,” Nadja explains. “That guided the space planning and even the tile selection.”
Her favorite design element? “The shower — our dedicated spa zone,” she smiles. “It’s the heart of the project and the centerpiece of this luxury steam shower experience.”

When the renovation wrapped, Lisha celebrated in style — hosting a bathroom reveal party to share her new sanctuary with friends. “It was so fun to see everyone’s reactions,” Nadja laughs. “They were blown away.”
The completed Oakland wellness bathroom reflects Nadja’s broader philosophy: that luxury and self-care should be standard in design. “Including wellness features isn’t an indulgence,” she says. “It’s part of living a balanced, happy life.”
Looking Ahead: The Future of Wellness Design
As for what’s next, Nadja is already channeling her creativity into new projects. “I’m working on an open-plan bathroom with a glass steam enclosure — I can’t wait to see it come together,” she shares.

“I think wellness will only grow in importance,” Nadja reflects. “People are realizing that creating balance between work and self-care leads to a happier, more grounded life — and our spaces should support that.”
