In this custom Boston home, luxury builder and developer Cindy Stumpo set out to create more than just a spa-inspired sanctuary. The client envisioned a space that felt calm, modern, and just a little unexpected — a true personal retreat.
“The space was designed for a homeowner who wanted a private retreat — something calming, modern, and a little unexpected,” Cindy says. “That shaped our approach to focus on mood and atmosphere, using darker woods, clean lines, and subtle lighting.”
Rather than seclude the sauna in a back corner, Cindy turned it into a design moment. Interior-facing windows give the space a visual connection to the rest of the home, allowing it to feel both interactive and intimate — a favorite detail that reflects her bold yet grounded approach to wellness design.
Partnering with Thermasol gave her the flexibility to bring that vision to life while integrating smart technology and wellness elements in a seamless way.

The space features a full suite of wellness technology: ThermaTouch control, HydroVive rainhead, and a PRO Series steam generator, with integrated aromatherapy and mood lighting, enhancing the experience even further. For Cindy, it was about more than aesthetics.
