MicroTouch Named One of Best Products of the Year by Architectural Record Magazine

ROUND ROCK, TX – ThermaSol® is thrilled to announce that their new steam shower controller, MicroTouch, was announced as one of the ‘Products of the Year’ as awarded by Architectural Record magazine. A jury of six professionals selected the nine best new products of the year from among 500 entries submitted for Architectural Record’s annual competition. Jurors were asked to rate the entries on the criteria of innovation, usefulness, and—where applicable—aesthetics.

“We are quite honored to have been chosen,” said Martin Siwy, vice president of sales + marketing for ThermaSol. “Our mission is always to push design and technology forward with the end result being that the ThermaSol user is having the best steam shower experience, and it’s gratifying to see that others feel we’ve accomplished that.”

ThermaSol’s recently introduced sleek Microtouch control works in the same manner as a smartphone or tablet: with just the touch of your finger, you control the screen. Using capacitive touch technology (CTT), users can easily control their steam shower experience, including; on/off, temperature, PowerFlush system, or recall their last steam setting. Because of ThermaSol’s Precise Infrared Temperature Sensing* (patent pending), MicroTouch reads temperature more accurately and much faster than standard contact temperature sensors. Along with its technical capabilities, MicroTouch was designed with a low profile, crisp and clear screen display for those who do not want to draw attention to the controller. It is offered in Modern, Modern Recessed, Regency, Contemporary and Traditional styles in 14 finishes to match nearly any faucet or plumbing fixture on the market today.

ThermaSol’s Headquarters and Business Development Project Instrumental in Economic Development Award for Round Rock Chamber and ThermaSol

DALLAS – ThermaSol®, the industry leader in steam shower products and technology for more than 55 years and The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Partnership announced today that both organizations will be honored with the 2014 Community Economic Development Award (CEDA) for the ThermaSol Steam Bath Systems headquarters relocation and business park development project. CEDA, which is awarded by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), recognizes “excellence and exceptional contributions of Texas communities in economic development.” The chamber was included in the 100,001 – 250,000 population category and will receive its award at TEDC’s annual banquet on October 2, 2014 in Houston.

ThermaSol purchased 27 acres of land in the City of Round Rock and is developing it into an upscale business park where its new headquarters will be housed. The company had its ceremonial groundbreaking on one of the six planned buildings in the park, each being 30,000 to 50,000 square feet, on September 29th. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Mayor Alan McGraw, Ben White and Kyle Shulz of the Momentum Group, the Economic Development arm of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, Steve Norwood, City Manager, and Brad Wiseman, Director of The Planning and Development Department, City of Round Rock, as well as Mitch Altman, CEO and Jari Ristola, President of ThermaSol.

“Of course we were excited about our relocation and development project, but this award is the cherry on top,” ThermaSol CEO Mitch Altman said. “The city and chamber have been great development partners and for us to receive a state award really solidifies their economic development efforts. Round Rock works hard to be business-friendly, and it shows.”

The company’s new world headquarters will open in 2015 with a 37,000-square-foot manufacturing facility covering nearly 3.5 acres. They will employ a minimum of 45 people including factory personnel and the upper management team, but could create as many as 60 new jobs in the community. The project totals more than $3.5 million in capital investment and is being developed by the Altman Development Group.

“We knew this was a great project when we started working with ThermaSol, so we are extremely excited to have it recognized by our peers as well,” said the chamber’s vice president of economic development, Ben White. “The community will really benefit from having such a world-class business like ThermaSol here and having true shovel-ready sites to offer other companies is an amazing bonus. It will really open the door to further development and announcements.”

TEDC, which is now the largest state economic development association in the nation, received applications from 23 member communities in five population categories. The CEDA committee judged nominees on five criteria: innovativeness, transferability, community commitment and leverage, measured objectives, and secondary benefits.

ThermaSol Debuts Redesigned Website for Residential and Commercial Steam Systems

Online destination features full catalog, product specifications and “Build Your Steam Shower” function

SIMI VALLEY, CALIF. – ThermaSol® is proud to announce the debut of its redesigned website, www.thermasol.com, an online destination for consumers looking to create a luxury home spa experience, business owners installing commercial-grade steam systems in spas, gyms and hotels, and trade professionals specifying ThermaSol products. The new site features user-friendly navigation, product catalog, brochures and specs, a “Build Your Steam Shower” function, dealer locator, educational videos and information about the company’s history and current news/events.

“Our new website design makes learning about steam and purchasing ThermaSol products for residential and commercial environments as easy as possible,” said Mitch Altman, CEO of ThermaSol. “We organized it into three separate portals: one for consumers, another for customers looking to buy commercial-grade steam systems and a third for trade professionals. One especially useful section is the ‘Build Your Steam Shower’ function, which allows people to simply enter measurements for the space and choose the appropriate generator, control, finishes and more. Our updated dealer locator puts customers in direct contact with approved showrooms in their area.”

The new website design is the latest in a series of announcements from ThermaSol. Most recently, the company introduced the Solitude Mobile Application, which allows users to control steam shower functions via handheld wireless telephones and tablet devices. It also introduced four new styles of controls and steamheads including: Deco, which echoes linear symmetry of early twentieth century style; Icon, inspired by tech legends of our time; Regency, which takes cues from neo-classical style; and its Modern Recessed flush mount design.

ThermaSol residential steam shower systems do not replace or negate normal bathroom showers. Once a conventional shower space has been converted to accommodate steam, (which requires minor renovations) the ThermaSol system generates and distributes steam into the envelope as a complement to the normal shower space, functions and experience. Basic components include: steam generator, control panel, steamhead and optional light and music system. ThermaSol also offers a wide range of accessories to help people create the ultimate luxury spa experience at home.

ThermaSol manufactures four commercial steam generator lines for use in health clubs, spas, hotels and other businesses with steam rooms. SuperDuty is an industrial grade generator that provides reliable steam for heavy-use spaces ranging from 600 to 1600 cubic feet; PowerPak is designed for steam rooms that are used less than 8 hours per day; SteamSuite provides steam for up to four separate hotel room steam showers at one time; and Day Spa is designed for powering multiple individual steam rooms in spa environments. ThermaSol also offers authentic Finnish saunas.
